 Toy Poodle Puppies and News

We hear from people looking to purchase a toy poodle, that "We just want a pet, but we want a healthy puppy from healthy parents with a good temperament."
Each "Rococo" puppy is produced by a specific breeding with the intention to better the breed.
Some, but not all puppies in our litters are evaluated as potential "show dogs".
That doesn't mean that the "others" are any less attractive or valuable.
Show dog breeders take their breeding programs seriously. It takes a lot of time, energy, thought and money to breed dogs well.
It is truly a labor of love and one that does not end when a puppy is sold, but one that continues when the puppy moves on to its new family.
Each Rococo puppy has been kissed 1000 times before it leaves here....

"SNOWBALL"
congrats Sharon and Terry

I will try to get some pictures of Snowball and the kids today.  They are both crazy about her.  My grandson will hardly let anyone else play with her! He is already in love!  As are we!
Thanks,
Sharon

SnowBall
Here are a few pictures.  I haven't gotten any yet that I think are really good.  I am working on the video next.
All went well at the vet's.  They were really impressed with her temperament and how good she was to examine.  They also thought she was just pretty darn cute!  She weighed 4 pounds exactly.

Good morning.  Hope you had a good weekend at the shows.
Snowball is doing great.  She is such a wonderful addition to our lives.
Did you get the video of her running around the sectional?  If you did, I will send you the video of Snowflake in OKC.  Did you get the picture of her and her stairs? She just goes up them in nothing flat!
She is just a wonderful puppy.  She can be a wild and crazy kind of dog one minute and super cuddler the next!  My grandson said yesterday that he loves her so much he's going to marry her! We are all crazy about her.

Thanks,
Sharon

"Snowball" declared a hero......

Today we took Snowball to visit Terry's 94 year old mother for the first time.  She was a big hit with everyone at the assisted living center, of course.  Terry's mom has no hearing in her right ear and very little in the left.  About 3 months ago we got her fitted with a hearing aid that really improved her hearing as well as her quality of life.  She hadn't had it long at all until she lost it!  We have all looked and looked for the hearing aid.  In fact, we had given up on it.  Snowball was anxious to explore the new area today so she was all over the room sniffing and playing.  She went under the bed and Terry noticed that she had something in her mouth.  He got down on the floor to see what it was and she dropped the hearing aid on the floor and probably expected him to throw it for her!  You can't believe how many times we have all looked under that bed!  Where she found it we do not know.  We are just thankful. I put the hearing aid in his mom's ear and we did not have to repeat one thing the rest of the time we were there!  I bet she might have even won at bingo today since she can hear what numbers are being called now!  Snowball is now a legend at the assisted living center.
Are you coming to the shows in Dallas July 8-11?  Snowball will be old enough to show for those shows.  We are considering showing her if you think that would be a good idea.

Let me know what you think.
Sharon

Congratulations Debbie and Michael on your new baby!

Day 1

Dear Family
It's a boy!

Winston III has arrived!  At barely 8 weeks, 1 lb, 10 oz, he's a tiny little furball full of energy, kisses and nibbles.  He plays hard and sleeps soundly.  His first night was much better than expected with only one 2 a.m. cry to go out.  Big sister, Shenzi, is a little miffed at the moment, but doesn't complain when he lays against her.

He came from a wonderful breeder in Tulsa, Jill Cloud. Many thanks to Jill for being a true dog lover and spoiling this little guy so he would be ready for us to take over.

Hope you can meet him soon!

Proud parents,
Mikie and Debs

Day 2

Hi Jill!

Here's the update:  We ate and played and slept yesterday morning.  Posed for pictures, ate again around noon.  Drove in to Springfield (2 hrs.) to visit my friend, Stacy (we affectionately call her the dog whisperer), who drove down from Wisconsin to visit some of my other friends who have foxtrotters so she could learn more about horses.

In the truck, he was on my lap for about 10 min. then decided he liked sleeping in the soft side carrier in the passenger seat (with the door open toward me).  Slept most of the way.  Got lots of hugs and kisses from my friends.  Slept on Stacy's lap for an hour, played, ate, got back in the carrier (door open) and drove home, sleeping all the way.  Got home, played, went to bed in carrier (door shut) around 11, woke up around 2, went out, played a little, went back to carrier on bed, slept till 7.  Went out, ate, played, now asleep on me as i type with one hand so he's not disturbed.

Shenzi is still a little miffed, but at least she's letting him occasionally cuddle up and sleep next to her on the sofa

We've only had 1 poopy accident indoors and that was my fault.  Since then he's been very good about knowing what to do when we go outside.

That's probably more than you wanted to know.  Bottom line is he's a much loved, happy puppy!

Hugs,
Debbie

Day 3

He passed inspection at my vet as well!  He seems to go full speed at playing (loves to growl at his toys) and then he's out like a light.  He's already figured out how to find the door to get back in the house after he does his business.  Smart little guy, just like you said!

Hugs,

Debbie
P.S.  I'm still keeping him  ;-)

day 4

 Hi Jill!

Another dreamy night - he slept from 11 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., then back to sleep till 6:30!  He had to spend a couple of hours in his open wire dog jail while I ran some errands today.  He did very well.  Later we had an appt. that lasted 2 1/2 hrs, so he had to stay in dog jail again.  This time he did use his pee pad....he didn't do anything on his blankets and pillow!  When I got home, he decided he wanted out of dog jail as soon as he heard me come in the door and tried to climb up the wires - got about halfway up!  He's an acrobat as well!

My mobile groomer came today to groom Shenzi and she met Winston - - she was VERY impressed with his socialization, his grooming, the cut of his tail, and his beautiful coat.  I told her all about you and she wanted your card.  She said "now that's the way a poodle's tail should look - I've never seen anyone do it properly before."  She said she had never found someone who bred poodles that she would recommend to anyone - you're the first!

He and Shenzi made a little headway today - she was curious enough to exchange nose sniffs with him and play for just a minute.  Still not totally accepting, but small steps is all I can ask for.  She's not mean or anything, she just tries to ignore him, then if he gets too close, she will do the get-away-from-me-growl, but is not at all aggressive.  He doesn't seem to be scared of her at all since he will crouch down in the pounce position and wait for the appropriate moment, then go after her.  It's a big game to him.

Anyway, that's the story for the day.

Hugs,
Debbie
P.S.  I'm not bringing him back.

"Baby Cate"

 Hi Jill,

Wanted to being you up to date on Cate.  She still remains
so adorable and positive she always will.  She has captured
our hearts along with many others.

Cate took her first trip to the vet yesterday, he was so impressed!!!
He said, "You didn't get Cate from around here or in any other part of AL.?"
My reply was no ........Tulsa.  One of the very first things he noticed
was her tail, made the remark "now that is the way they should be cut".
He absolutely adored her and looks forward to seeing her again soon. 4/13
She was using all her social graces yesterday, with no chewing on fingers
ears etc.

We are so happy to have
her as our little jewel!!!!  She can be a little pistol, has lots of energy, at
times plays by herself, most of the time we throw all her toys and of course
she loves that.  By the time we get through with her she is ready for her crate
and honestly we are also. :)

Want to mention how cute you send the puppies to their new homes, just so sweet and girlie.
She is all that.  One more thing, the past 4 nights she has slept all night, up
until then she woke once a night. A very good girl!!

Thanks again Jill for such a sweet puppy.

Barbara

"ENZO"

Dear Mommy Jill,

I just wanted to let you know that today is my whole 2nd birthday – I guess I am now considered a teenager.

I have had the best 2 years any poodle could ever desire.  I travel with Mom, Dad and Caia ( the love of my life, big sister), winter in Florida and spend the rest of the year in the Catskill Mountains where my Daddy put up a very large fence for me and Caia to run.  When we are in Florida he lets us run on the golf course – Mom gets mad because we really aren’t supposed to be on the golf course.   Daddy is our partner in crime and he lets us do just about anything we want.  He loves to take us out to eat in Florida because we sit outside and have our own chairs.  We are very good and do not beg – we just stare with  very sad faces and Dad usually sneaks us some really good stuff.

Do you remember how I learned to howl like a wolf when I want something?  Everyone thinks it very odd – I don’t because when I do that, I get my way.  When I howl they sure do listen!!!

As you can see, I have well learned to be a great member of a very loving family and my Mom says it is because I had such a great start.

Love,

Enzo Markoff

Dear Jill,
We want to tell you how much we appreciate all of the time and effort you have spent on helping us find the right poodle!
Sam has done a lot of calling, but would always get off the phone and start talking about you and your level of expertise!
So, he would call you back for more information and research!  You have gone above and beyond what anyone else has
offered to do. We really believe your services have been outstanding, and that you care about the families they go to!
She will be very happy here!!

Thanks so much,
Sam and Joni M.

"JIMMY CHOO"
Sold to Anne
Congratulations on your new soul mate.

Hi Jill,

Jimmy Choo has lived with us for almost a month now.  He has such a calm disposition that he is a perfect joy to everyone he has met.  And of course he is absolutely beautiful.  He has traveled with us by car, bus and plane and next week he is going with us by car to CO. and WY.  He has lost two of his eye teeth and I think he is ready to lose the other  two. He was neutered about three weeks ago and recovered very well.

He loves his toys, particularly his “chew” toys.  He still has great fun squeaking the little shoe that you gave us as well as his many new toys.

From day one, after I held him in the car all the way home,  he has been my constant companion and follows me everywhere faithfully.   He is a delightful companion and makes me laugh continually with his antics.  He loves to play ball all by himself and fetches well.  My nineteen year  old granddaughter is helping me train him.  He has mastered “sit”  and is working on “down” and “stay”.

He could not be more perfect!  You do an outstanding job with your toy poodles.  I would  recommend your Rococo Toy Poodles to anyone.

Anne

Marcus at his new home in Kansas.

Hi Jill-
Many thanks for sending photos of Marcus and his parents! We really enjoyed every one of them.
He is doing great, the kids are loving him so much and Chris and I feel like Marcus was just meant to be w/ us.

I'm sending a few photos  - My preschooler, Trey, took Marcus to preschool Thursday for show-n-tell. All 10 children got to pet him and he did very well. The ole tail was going crazy!

Brooke, Trey and I took him to the golf course today, as weather is in lower 60's, warm enough to be outside. We were the only ones out there, so we let him run around, helping Trey search for golf balls.

I'm including a pix of Marcus in the front yard of his new digs ... he will lead a charmed life w/ us, rest assured. And I think he'll be a good sport about wearing girl dog clothes and pink hair accessories. : )

What shampoo do you use for your dogs? Marcus got a bath today and smells like Orange/Mango as I used the kids' gentle shampoo.

We'll stay in touch!

LOUIS
SOLD to Joan L.

Elephant hunting.......

By way of update, Louis is quite the hunter-gatherer.  In addition to your blue elephant, he has the following “kills’ under his belt:  1 purple dinosaur (shredded within first 10 minutes of play), 2 harnesses, 2 paper towel cores,  1 chicken rawhide stick, 5 rawhide balls, 2 rawhide bones, 2 piddle pads, 1 sock, 1 slipper, and countless Kleenex.  He’s so proud of each and every one.   I love watching the light bulbs go off in his mind.  Yesterday, he associated the doorbell ringing with someone coming in the house, and took off running for the door as soon as it chimed.  More photos coming soon, Joan.

March 25th, 2009
Hey Jill – we just got back from Louis’ 4 month checkup & boosters, where the vet gave him an “A+”.  He’s up to 5.1 lbs, which “he wears well” (padded in the right places, chiseled in the others), and has gotten a couple of adult teeth.  Naturally, everyone oohed and aahed over him, and he gave a command performance of “sit” for the crowd.  He did take a little grief though, for being a mop-top while his topknot grows out to ponytail length.  It isn’t quite long enough to pull up into a rubber band – but he looks adorable nonetheless.  Did I mention his bark?  He doesn’t do it often….when he gets really wound up with a toy or one of my rubber flip-flops….but he’ll pounce on the prey, crouch down on his front legs, stick his butt in the air, and bark like he means it…way too cute.  Also impressive is his stance.  He can be walking though the house, have something catch his eye, and he will throw a stack like he’s at Westminster.  I don’t know if that is simply the result of good breeding, or if it’s learned behavior from your other poodles, or what…but he knows he looks good.  Joan.

ENZO

March 24, 2009

Dear Mommy Jill,

Today is my first birthday and I wanted to tell you a little about my first year with Mommy Nancy, Daddy Allan, my sister Caia and my feline siblings Blue and Peanut (did you know that cats spit, have claws and absolutely no sense of humor?)

It has been a great year and I have learned so much, especially from Caia. She is a good teacher and acts like a canine Mama (she scolds me when I am naughty). I used to be real naughty ‘cause I would chase her and bite her ears and tail. She didn’t like that very much and she would put up with just so much and then, boy, would I get it. I really like chewing her ears, so much so, that I heard Mommy Nancy complain about how short Caia’s ears are now because I keep chewing on them. I am losing my desire to chew – so Mommy, Caia and I are both a lot happier. I really love Caia and I want to be with her all the time.

I also get scolded from Caia when she does not want to play and is resting peacefully – I charge her and stop right before I reach her, of course she gets mad at me, so just to annoy her I lightly touch her with my paw (I need to get the last word- Mom says it is that sense of entitlement) – she gets mad again, I take my paw back and when she looks away – I touch her again. It is great fun and after a few times she gets really mad and I have to stop. I hear Mommy Nancy say that I am a big tease. When I get upset and start to howl she comes running to make sure I am alright, so deep down I know she loves me as much as I love her (well, maybe not quite as much).

I really have fun with Daddy – I can be really naughty because he is also naughty. We have the best time together. He is always eating something good and dropping crumbs that I get to clean up (Mommy does not let me have people food). I always have so much fun with Daddy but as much fun as I have with him, my heart belongs to Mommy. She makes me mind but she gives me so many kisses and hugs, which I love. She also says I am very smart and she loves it when I listen to her. Every time she picks me up I just melt – I have her wrapped around by little paw.

I also hear my Mommy say I am a comedian and have added so much fun and life to the family. I have a very funny bark and when I am upset I put my nose up in the air and howl kinda like a wolf – if I don’t get my way I really work it up sooooo loud – nobody can believe this sound comes from my handsome little face. Dr. Phil, said he never heard a sound like I make in his 25 years as a vet. I am so cool!

As you can see I have a great life – I am always with my family, travel with them, sleep with them and even go to work with them. Thanks for choosing them for me – it is a perfect match!!

Love you,

Enzo (Ba-dooh)

Ps. Please give a kiss and a lick to my sister Pink ( Mom says she’s a star now) – My Mom wants me to tell you the Natural Balance potato and duck formula has totally gotten rid of my red eyes, She says thank you.

Nancy M.

Sir James

I thought I would send you James' 8 month photo after just being groomed.  I also want you to see Julie, my P.W.D. and the two of them playing.  Life is good for them.  They love each other and have a ball every day.  They are going with us to Florida on Wednesday.  James is a true blessing for our family.  He is always happy and ready for play.  He sleeps on the bed now without the crate. I hope you like his clip. I love grooming him, because poodles have always been my passion.  He stands like a prince and enjoys the attention.  Your poodles are extraordinary.  I've looked at many websites, but your dogs have faces that you can only dream about.  James is 10 inches high.  He should be a show dog, and I keep him looking like one.  He heals on lead and sits when I stop.  His obedience training will continue until he comes on command.
